Simon Williams

Simon is the founder and owner of PeakFlow.Zone.

Simon is a lover of music and a scientist at heart, having started with a degree in physics and attended many gigs and sung in a number of musicals whilst at Durham University.  More recently that interest has shifted to psychology, neuroscience and music and how this can be used to develop peak performance.

He started his career in the 80s in IT consulting at Logica and Andersen Consulting.  He was then a founder, board member and major shareholder of The DMW Group, an IT consultancy. Over 27 years, he grew the business from start-up to over 70 fee-earners.  He is also an advisor to the Institute of Advanced Studies at Durham University. The IAS is an ideas-based cross-disciplinary organisation bringing together some of the world’s finest researchers to examine themes of major intellectual, scientific, political and practical significance. He was also a trustee of a charity offering specialist coaching programmes for underprivileged young people.

Simon has also been actively engaged in promoting diversity in the workplace. During 2016 he was involved in Collaborating with Men, research undertaken by Murray Edwards College, Cambridge examining how workplace culture can be changed to be more inclusive for women. He was also the diversity champion on the board of DMW.

In his spare time, Simon is a middle-aged man in lycra, and has ridden many of the famous climbs of the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta.  He is also a lover of indie music and much more. He attends gigs regularly and supports local bands. He is growing his ability to ape his idols on vocals and guitar. He also wields a camera and took almost all the photos used in this web site.
